Aug 31: Google raised the price of every Nest camera and doorbell overnight — some by $50

Google quietly hiked U.S. prices on nearly its whole Nest lineup effective August 31, blaming "rising component costs." The Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd gen) jumped from $149.99 to $199.99, the Nest Cam Indoor went from $99.99 to $129.99, and both Nest Doorbells and the battery Nest Cam climbed from $179.99 to $199.99. That's on top of the monthly Nest Aware plan families already pay just to see their own footage — and the story was flagged by two independent trend sources today, with the same hike hitting the Google TV Streamer in the same announcement.
